The Story of Pushparaj
February 27, 2024Malini*, a 10-year-old child lived in Andhra Pradesh with her parents. Due to the financial need the family sent her with someone who promised to take care of her and give her a job in Tamil Nadu.
On reaching her destination, the child was given the job of duck grazing. She would be given food depending on the hours of work she does. After days of struggling without being properly fed, she ran away. She was rescued by an NGO at a Railway Station in Tamil Nadu and was sent to the protection home.
During the counselling sessions with Justice and Hope, the counsellor build a rapport with the child. She confided about how she got to Tamil Nadu and that she didn’t know the whereabouts of her parents.
The Justice and Hope team worked to get her back to her family. While the parents still remain untraced, the team was able to get her back to her home state of Andhra Pradesh. Malini now seems to be enjoying the company of her new friends at a children’s home. She even updated the team about enjoying her time at school.
